Sorry, but I would have made sure Leeds didn't get to the playoffs at the very least with this appeal debacle. Mind you, having to play Brighton in the playoffs instead would have been worrying. But probably OK because they suck major balls.
I would also either dock points or fine Derby County for being absolutely fucking useless and embarrassing and riding the gravy train that is the Premiership. They did NOTHING to improve their chances of competing whatsoever since promotion last year and boy did it show !! They just pocketed the extra money and put their feet up. A disgrace. Actually, the FA should ban them from getting into the Premier league for like 5 years or something. That would learn the fucks.

I am absolutely drained. Completely and utterly gutted. Lets be honest, the signs had been there for a while - Saints were scrapping for it and we just weren't. It was obviously going to be a tight match and we came so close at times. Third tier for the first time ever, in 124 years, I'm truly, truly gutted.
I blame Roy Essandoh. Its depressing to think that's only three matches away from being a league fixutre. There's also that Hereford cup match from only two years ago, Championship vs. Conference, now its a bloody league match.
Still. Chin up. We've not been good enough, that's football and all the rest of the cliches that apply. Time to pick ourselves up and get on the train to Yeovil. With Wesolowski, King, Gradel, Ashley Chambers, (and hopefully Stearman and Mattock), and the others like Kee, McKay, Sappleton, Beswick and Odhiambo, even Levi Porter if he gets fit, there's something for the future if we can just get past this useless heap of overpaid wasters like Clemence and Howard. We need the Trev back.

Match of choice in the pub was Stoke-Leicester. How you didn't score I really don't know. Stoke keeper played his socks off. I really felt for you. See Mandaric is staying with the club though but don't know whether that's good or bad.
Is it a bloke thing - this utter delight in another team's downfall? Doesn't really seem to matter who the team is or which division it is - blokes just seem to celebrate any team that's going down. Or that's how it seemed to me.
And please quinch, I seriously need Derby to go on being rubbish for just one more match. If that's OK?
ACT SMILEY on 7/5/2008 at 00:11
Er, I don't know - certainly everyone has their preferences in each battle for promotion or against relegation, but quite why the population of Reading would care at all I don't know, unless you were in a pub full of Southampton fans without noticing.

Any rugby fans out there? As a Gloucester supporter I am of course delighted to top the table. Would rather have Quins visit for the playoffs though.
Also want to express my appriciation for Richard Hill, retiring today. A true sporting legend.
D'Juhn Keep on 11/5/2008 at 09:50
Yeah! Hill was a fantastic player. That he's continued so long after winning the lucrative (for sponsorship anyway) world cup, even while he can't even walk properly, tells its own story for how much he enjoys the game. Hopefully he'll be able to empart his knowledge to a younger generation. With Johnson as manager maybe there's a place for him in the England setup?
OK guys it's SUPER SUNDAY in the premiership so I want last minute, wildly inaccurate predictions!
To kick off, I think Fulham and Birmingham will go down and Man Utd will, deservedly, win the title. They've played football that's a pleasure to watch. It would be funny if they fucked up though :D

No it wouldn't. I've got a 100 quid riding on them.

Well, congrats!
Middlesbourgh 8-1 Man City what the christ
Even more incredible is Man City having a player sent off when they look to be eligible for european football for having such a good fairplay record! You'd think they'd at least not get sent off.

The conspiracy theorists are out in force to suggest that Eriksson wanted to deliberately shaft Man City's UEFA Cup chances for next season out of spite, and Dunne is leaving the club in the summer anyway, so he wouldn't care.
And you could have telephoned a United win in for today's match when Steve Bennett was appointed as referee, to be honest. Mr Bennett should probably get his own league winner's medal for the help he's given them this season.
Good to see Birmingham and their neanderthal fans go down, and pleased for Fulham staying up - a nice little club, and for Super Dan to get the winner was the icing on the cake.
Great to see Pepe Reina picking up his third Golden Gloves trophy in a row for most clean sheets in a season - not bad for a "dodgy keeper". And Torres breaking van Horseface's record for most goals by a foreigner in his debut season; I think there's no better striker in world football.
Meanwhile, Gareth Barry has a tough decision ahead of him this summer - Intertoto Cup or Champions League football next season?
I'm optimistic about our chances next season. I know we finished 11 points behind United, but we actually lost one fewer game than they did. IF we can stop drawing games we should win, and all the off-field stuff dies down, we will be there or thereabouts in 2009.

Haha it's rather hard to argue against that given the blatant penalty Wigan should have received and Scholes' cynical takedown that was a yellow card every day of the week (but not on sundays?)
