Dear Australia,

I have tried to explain to some of the locals that it doesn't really matter who wins a given game but they just don't believe me:(

Yeah so that happened.
Although one could argue Australia was robbed by the earlier no try call, the reality is we are not very good right now. You can't identify a single area of the Australian team that is particularly stable. Luckiliy there's still plenty of time before the next World Cup, and at the end of the day these tour matches don't count for much in a few years time, beyond the achievement of a grand slam.
Robbie Deans has a track record of teams struggling when he takes them over, it takes a while for him to imprint his highly adaptive game plans on a team. Luckily the Australian media is being very reasonable with handling these losses, and hasn't called for the coaches head. Hopefully this lasts long enough for us to start winning before we lose the best coach in the southern hemisphere.

At least you guys have beaten the boks this year. Best we've managed is being consistently a little less bad than teams which are really not very good at all at the moment. And we lost to France, again.

Yeah, that was surprising.
You usually leave it to the World Cup to choke

So very very cruel. I'd just got back to being able to sleep regular hours without the flashbacks and nightmares and now it's therapy time again :(:(:(.
I can't even bring myself to post pages of 19-6 in every conceivable colour and size in reply since that would simply be reinforcing that we're just a
little bit better than one of the worst England side in ten+ years.

They did a good thing and now the goal difference isn't so crazy against us (Hull).
Though tbh I'm not that bothered so long as who ever is playing Sunderland wins.

In other news, Women ski jumpers are (
http://www.sanluisobispo.com/olympics/story/928942.html) banned from the upcoming Olympics at Whistler.
Can't say I'm horribly interested in this story, but it seems at first glance like a blatantly sexist move from the IOC.

Just posting to say my college football team -- Univ of Texas -- just won the Big 12 title and made it to the final championship in one of the more insane clutch situations of the year. Next stop Pasadena, vs. Alabama for the final game. (It's cool because it's 2 undefeated teams.)

Props also go to my hometown team, TCU, which would (with a good vote) have gone to the championship if UTexas had lost. Would have been cool to see them go all the way too, but I have to cheer for my Horns in the end.
