If the BBC actually devoted decent resources to showing the sport when they get it I'd be more enthusiastic. Wedging it into BBC1 or BBC2's schedule inevitably means that, for example, golf is shown for a few hours each day only, often with about half the coverage time that Sky will give a tournament. Thanks but no thanks, Auntie.

In fairness, the amount of time they give to the majors they show is pretty great. On all day, interactive as well.
What I would take exception with is the quality of the coverage. It's often easy to think there are only 6 players in the whole competition. Camera time is dedicated to Woods, Mickelson, lowest-shooting Englishman and whoever's actually leading the thing, it's absolutely awful.

Camera time is poor and direction of those cameras can be pretty poor, too; stupid closeups, missing half a putt to linger on a star's face, that sort of thing.

My favourite piece of crap coverage was when we saw Woods eating a sandwich in the practice area - while other players were out on the course.
That aside, what an amazing final day. The standard of putting was bizarrely terrible - especially by Tiger - but what drama! Harrington completely broke down which was very sad but Yang was the feel-good story we needed post-Watson. His second at the 18th was surely one of the best shots ever played, considering the stakes.
In other news GLORY GLORY TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR and I heard some guy ran kind of quickly

Yes, 23mph. And Schumacher won't be returning to F1 after all because of a neck problem. And all those extra European GP tickets sold because of his imminent return. If Renault lose their appeal against their ban for that race, locals won't even have Alonso.*
Also Button's season is reminding me of Hill's in '96. Won most of the races in the first half of the season and spent the second half just hanging on.
*edit: Renault are back: (

Interesting bit of the article:
"Alonso's right front wheel came off and bounced across the track at the race four weeks ago...
But Renault team manager Steve Nielsen had said he was confident the team's suspension would be lifted."

If you're not in the pub or got sky and you want to watch the cricket - you can see it online at myp2p>possibly also under live sports>cricket> 2nd 'others' entry under spvod at the bottom of the list. I don't get an advert onscreen but some people do.
I've used this site quite a bit now and not got anything dodgy from it and I know of people who've been using it for ages now with no problems. The chat under the screen leaves a lot to be desired. Don't recommend it for your mother/grandmother.
:D
I am now extremely impressed with Ricky Ponting.

Barrichello did well today. Nice to see another winner this year.
Badoer... :o
I suppose we should see how he does at a more conventional track next weekend. Ferrari must now be really missing Schumacher.

He's shit, which is unsurprising really as he hasn't raced in 10 years. To top his weekend off, he hit Sutil's car in Parc Ferme.
Why they didn't use Marc Gene, their other test driver, who won goddamn LeMans this year is beyone me.

Lost two games in the whole of last season and still didnt win. Now have lost two from three. I always rated Alonso over Gerrard.
