Here are a couple of recordings, one of which is the radio transmissions between Hamilton and his race engineer:
(
http://www.fia.com/en-GB/mediacentre/pressreleases/f1releases/2009/Pages/f1_stewards_decision.aspx)
"... the Stewards and the Race Director questioned Lewis Hamilton and his Team Manager David Ryan specifically about whether there had been an instruction given to Hamilton to allow Trulli to overtake.
Both the driver and the Team Manager stated that no such instruction had been given. The Race Director specifically asked Hamilton whether he had consciously allowed Trulli to overtake. Hamilton insisted that he had not done so."
And here is the BBC story:
(
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7978186.stm)
Hamilton says, several times, that he's let Trulli past, as per his instructions from the team. The footage on the BBC site shows him slowing down. I'm not sure what Whitmarsh is on about when (
http://www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3213_5134263,00.html) he says Hamilton did not slow down. As well as slowing, Hamilton went off the racing line.
Whitmarsh says "At the stewards' meeting, we mistakenly believed that the stewards were aware, Charlie [Whiting] was there, and the FIA was there, of that radio conversation."
If that's the case why did they deny the instruction being given?
At the moment it looks as if Hamilton & McLaren are in the wrong. I've emboldened 'At the moment' because at an earlier moment it looked as if Trulli & Toyota were in the wrong.

Thanks for those links - now I understand what they're all going on about. But I dunno - the conversations seem really chaotic to me.

ho ly shit
Arshavin has just got a hat-trick from nowhere to take a 2-3 lead at Anfield
This has been such a great period for exciting football games!!
edit: 3-3 what a match
edit II: Final score Liverpool 4, Arshavin 4, unbelievable. Arsenal were so bad for most of the game, every time a ball was played near the penalty area it looked like they'd concede due to comical defending. They can barely have had a shot on target but for Arshavin's 4.

Bah, missed it. Knew I should have gone to the gym. Last week's match vs Chelsea was fantastic too. Shame about the result ('pool should have won on the awesomeness of the 1st goal). UK top flight footy can be just :D sometimes.

I don't even care about sports and the Cincinnati Bengals make me (further) ashamed to live here.

Didn't want to start a new thread over this, but ManU just signed up Bordeaux player Gabriel Obertan. Who although I have absolutely no interest in football at all is the only football player I'm following somewhat closely because, he happens to be my cousin.
Way to go :cheeky:

Although I can't really stand ManU myself, way to go indeed. Congrats!
