I guess enjoy it while it lasts, Scots! Naturally I have no first-hand experience of this but there's no such thing as a free lunch- my mum's life became hell after I learned to walk. Before then, apparently I was almost completely silent as far as frothing cauldrons of instinct with arms go.

Congrats Scots, mrs & baby!

I must say, and this is something I've been telling everyone, I'm not surprised that I'm taken with little Evie but I'm surprised by just
how much she means to me. It's been a pretty amazing experience all round really.
I'm not a P myself--although looking at pics like yours makes me want to toss my birth control pills--but a friend of mine once said, "You expect to LOVE your kids, but what you don't anticipate is the way you FALL IN LOVE with them."
The best life has to offer. :D

Welcome to parenthood, Scots. Don't forget to take scads of pics; they work well as blackmail later in the kid's life.
P.S. Hold on to your butt! It's gonna be a helluva ride!

Heheh. Well, if it's a hell of a ride then we've only begun the slow ascent on the rollercoaster... this child has been a dream for the past week. Evelyn's been sleeping every night straight since she got home. I awoke this morning before I left for work at 6:30am and she'd just roused after getting put down around 11pm. She was so damn cute that I didn't want to leave... but daddy needs to pay the bills!
I'm really glad I had that first week off and that Clare and I were practically alone with her the entire time. It hasn't been even mildly stressful, it's been a really joyful experience and everything positive people have had to say has been true. I think being entirely alone with baby in that first week has really established a bond. It feels like Evie really trusts us and that's a really special feeling.
Hell, she even went to a 21st birthday party with the blaringly loud Shug in tow, got christened by pink champagne and didn't even cry too hard. What more can I ask for? other than she becomes a millionairess at like 2 or something obviously
Thanks again for all the well wishes folks. Good times.
