PS. Of course you're allowed to joke. I was just over-reacting as usual.

:laff: Some/most maybe people wash up like that but I can't say I've done a study. I don't like the Brit way and I don't wash up like that at all. But I don't have a spray nozzle either.
My US relations cut all their food up first and then eat with a fork. Is that the US norm? Is it so you can keep your other hand permanently on your glass?

Wait, all of it at once? Because that's what you do for 4 year olds.

The traditional Brit way is pure insanity but the US way seems nuts too!
I wash it all with a sponge and stack it, then put it all back in the empty sink and rinse.

I use a dishwasher. \ o / . Have done enough dishes by hand and since I'm a rich decadent American....well there you go.
Lots in the US do the wholesale chop the contents of the plate an then eat. I'm not one of them. But I do cut right and fork to mouth left. I spoon soup towards me and not away but I at least try not to slurp in good company. I'm not confused by the vast array of forks at a fine table but goodness sakes it makes for an extra mess.
Why do people insist in putting coarse ground pepper in a shaker (cellar) with tiny holes designed for fine ground? Here I am say out to breakfast and want to add a little extra heat to my eggs and sausage and I end up doing something that looks a bit like doing something that a man of any age ought not to be doing in public. To further the question, why use coarse ground pepper at all? Because even if you do succeed in getting the cap off the shaker and apply a liberal amount of that precious Indian spice about your meal you still can hardly taste it. I think it's a global conspiracy but further research is still in order.

Coarse ground pepper has more/better flavour. I'm not sure why that is. It is better coming from a single-use sachet or directly from a grinder though, for the reason you state.

Here you proved the philistinism that you only hinted at...

Freshly ground pepper is superior to the fine powdery taste irrelevance in almost every way. I grind coarse it and it is
good.

Pepper's taste/smell is fairly complex (it's not just "heat n sneezes lol") and it loses some of the more subtle flavours (most probably via some form of oxidising) fairly quickly once you break the peppercorns. The greater the surface area the faster this happens, which is why freshly milled pepper is aces, coarse ground stuff is usually ok, and finely ground stuff tastes like ass.
