I could imagine something like the first
Subnautica (I've not yet played
Below Zero)
One of the main story elements in BZ doesn't really work for multiplayer, but the core gameplay is almost exactly the same.

What I think would work well for coop would be more like Empyrion (which actually is coop), except the alien world is a lot more hostile, denser with weird nature and strange, wondrous, unsettling sights, more to explore, more about building a home base and taming the wilds ... so like Subnautica, just on land.

Yeah it's really good! Just built my first base and got an alien stuck in my head. I like the new conveniences, like the mineral scanner and being able to pin recipes. The story is quite engaging as well.
There are a couple gameplay-tweaks I'd love tho, and I submitted these via the in-game Feedback system as well:
-an option to auto-unpin recipes once you've made them.
-the mineral scanner should sort in alphabetical order, to make finding the right item less of a hassle.

Finished Below Zero. Yeah, that was pretty good. Shorter than the first one, at ~20h, but I did make more of an effort to stay focused on my goals with this one, knowing I'll get bored before reaching the end otherwise. Only made 1 base, never built a prawn suit and never found the mech-pilot. The wildlife definitely felt a lot less hostile than the first game, I only died once.
