Found it! Turns out there was a second way into the ship. Anyway, reactor patched, crisis averted! :D

Did you find enough scannable objects for the PRAWN to build one? If not, you may want to search the Aurora some more.

I did go back and look but I didn't find all the Prawn suit parts yet. I found something just as good tho: a poster of a kitten saying ”Keep calm”. Yes, little kitten, I will keep calm, and find that Prawn suit!
Btw I wanna give praise to a great lil bit of game design I spotted here: the animations for climbing through air-hatches stop playing after a while. Those transitions do look cool, but after you've seen 50 or so of them the game is like ”ok you're probablly getting tired of seeing these now” and just skips past them from there on.

Hahaha, well in that case I hope they don't fix it. It's perfect.

Ducky, yeah I've had a few run-ins with that thing already! Got the hull reinforced on my seamoth now but haven't outfitted it with torpedoes yet. Should I?
If you're gonna be using the seamoth a lot, perhaps it's worthwhile to invest in a few torpedos. I personally never used'em. I generally avoided going into any biomes where
they are lurking until after I've built the
prawnsuit. After that, I am King Dick of the seas (complemented with the
drill and grappling arms). <3 Before that, the stasis rifle really is going to be a lifesaver from time to time, especially when you have to explore out of the seamoth.

Worth noting, Subnautica: Below Zero hits 1.0 next week on the 14th.

There's been a couple big updates since I last tried Below Zero but it was a big disappointment after how much I enjoyed the first one. I don't know how the maps compare objectively speaking, but BZ feels small and cramped to me. The cramped part is particularly annoying with the reduced vehicle options; you just can't take that modular train to tight spaces unless you're constantly juggling the compartments on and off, which is tedious and reduces exploration options. The biomes also feel more samey than in the first game, and the out of water part of the game was not fun at all. I don't know how many hours I spent lost in the Glacial Basin maze but I hope they've cut it down to 1/3 since then. Presumably they haven't, though, because AFAIK there's been no changes to the biomes.
On the other hand the story was barely implemented when I played it which probably highlighted the gameplay shortcomings. I'd be curious to hear other people's opinions because I'm kinda surprised they feel the game is done without at least overhauling the map and maybe adding one or two biomes.

Got the prawn suit! This thing is fun! Didn't expect it to actually just clonk around on the seafloor, but it totally works and makes me see the environment from a whole new perspective. First thing I did was run up and punch a fish. Then a sandshark. PLAYTIME'S OVER, FISHIES! :ebil:
Btw if someone wants to see my base, here's a short vid: (

That's my main base. Also built a second, smaller one, because I wanted to scan another area for resources. Currently scouting locations for my third base, deeper down. I did find a nice, relatively-calm spot in a cave with a thermal vent.

The Prawn Suit is great, though I was constantly worried about getting it stuck down a chasm I couldn't climb back out of when I first got it.
The grapple arm is a must to alleviate that problem, and the drill arm is also great for harvesting those giant mineral clusters ... or drilling into enemies!
I'm also curious about peoples' opinions on Below Zero, and if it's worth playing.
