Use your Sniper Rifle, Its a Universal Lock pick. After the gep gun, but you have WAY more 3006 rounds then gep rounds. So I just use the sniper rifle. Especially when its silenced. I can open a door and the enemies don't even know. HAHA. But it will only work with doors at 50% or less. But thats almost ALL of them. I can only recall 4-5 doors that had more. And those that have more... eh. nothing the GEP gun can't handle...

Just the opposite here, I usually have more rockers than needed, but not enough 3006 rounds... Hell, I tend to have more rockets than LAMs, so I use them for stuff like doors. :p

Depending on your Style of play, I usually go non-lethal for about half the game. plenty of Sniper rifle rounds then, and i ONLY use GEP-Gun rounds on Bots. But you always have more Sniper rounds then Gep gun (Since you can only carry 40 rockets, 20 + 20WP) both can break doors. But you can carrry 108? rounds of 3006. Well actually now that i reread my post it makes no sense, but i'm too tired to change it. Nothing Amazing in it really.
