In my spells/scrolls menu I have three effects. All of them mention (I think) Womburn. The one that worries me is the one called stunted magicka. This stops my magicka going up when I'm sleeping.
I'm playing an Imperial - is there any way to get rid of this problem. It's hard to find enough restore magic potions!

The best way is to not choose the Atronach Birth sign, since Stunted Magica is one of it's negative effects.
However, you do absorb spells, so at later stages of the game you should get magicka back easily!
Also, joining the mages guild gives you access to their equipment chests that contain quite a few restore magicka potions.

Dobt it.
It has to do with your birth sign.
It has some plus and some minus.

Actually I find Atronach (boosted though stunted magicka) and Lady (+25 endurance +23 personality) the only birthsigns worthwhile. Ok, playing eg. a thief there are other options to consider but for your regular fighter/mage it is one of these, IMHO.
If you want to go hardcore about leveling up your stats then sleeping to regain magicka is a nono anyway. So, here is one advice i have for an Atronach:
.
Dont kill the scrib!
Ask again if you dont get what i mean.

I didn't get what u mean. I don't call the scribs. What difference does that make?

Um, english is not my first language but i didn't think i said you should *call* them anything? Anyway, here you go:
When scrib are around, attack them unarmed then just stand there. They will hurt a little, but scrib attack with magic too, and some of it you can absorb. Balmora egg mine is my magicka station when playing atronach. Naturally this wont work if your unarmed skill is high, maybe you could switch to annoying netches then. ;-)
Sorry, don't know why I said call, I meant "kill". I think I was drunk. Thanks for the tip, it's a great idea and I'll try it out.
