hi. need help underwater. i need to get into this building with this green light flashing off and on on the top of it. savage stated there was a a lift or trap door of some sort around that will take me into the place but i cannot, for the life of me, find this lift. someone who has completed the game must know. please tell me and thank u. :)

I'm going to spoiler-text this, seeing as how it hasn't yet been moved to DX: Hints and Spoilers.
[SPOILER]I assume that you've just reached the ocean lab, and savage has told you to go to the crew module with the green light.
First of all, unless you have a very high swimming ability, it's not recommended to get at the module through the water. You can certainly try if you want to, but I've personally never gone that way, so I can't offer you a specific path or anything.
If I were you, I'd just go through the ocean lab itself to get to the crew module. Stay inside and dry, and work your way up from the sub bay and around.
If you can be more specific I could help more, but for now just remember that underwater isn't the only route.[/SPOILER]

Since this whole thread will probably be deleted soon.......
The Ocean Lab section in Deus Ex is probably one of them most atmospheric and tense sections of play. Worming your way through the dimly lit, semi-flooded corridors populated sparsely with Greasels and Karkians is cracking stuff - and for some reason always makes me think of Dino Crisis - but the real treat comes from J.C's encounter with Walton Simons after he nabs the UC component from the underground labs. This is (in my opinion) the funniest point in the game. All you have to do is this:
Step 1: Take out every turret and Gray Goo monster you meet in the lab, before you get the UC component.
Step 2: On the darkened slop up to the drill-machine-room, ready either a) Your Dragons Tooth, or b) A fast firing weapon like your Assault shotgun/rifle.
Step 3: Activate your "Run Faster" Aug, then LEG IT like mad, straight out the door and across the room. Don't look back, and use your weapon to kill the diver you'll meet as you head straight back to your sub.
Step 4: Use the sub to return to the Dockside base, then use the computer terminal to seal shut the doors.
This should mean that Walton gets stuck forever in the Ocean Lab, but he does still turn up in Area 51. If you do the above, however, then the villan is vastly easier to defeat. Just run down the slope to the LEFT, after shooting the bots, then turn to the right and you'll see the podgy fool running towards you. Simply prep your preffered weapon, and gun the cad down before he gets within 15 metres of you.
He never had a chance.....
