Im on a quest that requires me to help get a guy out of his dream. I cant figure out how to swim through this underwater system of caves. I use a breathing potion and that helps but Ive been trying for a few hours and I just cant get past this part. Any help would be much appreciated.

Get in, but don't use the potion until you're close to drowning. There's a chest underwater with another potion; use that one if necessary. Personally, I was able to get through using just the one. Of course, if you have water breathing spells use those too.
The route through the tunnel is linear but has a couple of sharp turns, so checking the automap may help you if you get confused.

actually you can not cast spells in the dream land.

Good point, I forgot about that. The rest of my advice remains valid however.
