I am trying to work through the formal Morrowind quest. I have become the Nevarine. I have done the first 5 trials as set out be the wise woman. I have also gone to Vivec and had him declare me the Nevarine and I have got the 2 "Tools". But the wise woman won't acknowladge that I have done the sixth trial. Is this a glitch in Morrowind or am I missing something obvious? Suggestions gratefully received.

Has your journal been updated, saying that you've completed the fifth trial?
What was the fifth trial anyway?

Good thought, but no go. I checked my journal and it shows that I have completed the fifth trial which was to be named Nerevarine by all the tribes of the Ashlanders. I have also met with the Archcanon and been sent to talk to Vivec. He gave me Wraithguard, lifted the prohibition on the Nerevarine and the dissident priests. I then went and recovered Sunder and Keening, which is supposed to be the Sixth Trial. But I can't get into Dagoth Ur's Citadel. When I speak to the wise woman, she gives me the same answer for both the Sixth and the Seventh Trials. That I must go to Vivec and demand the tools I already have. I have gone back to Vivec, but that was no help.

If you have the tools and can wear Wraithguard, forget Nibani... you have all you need to finish the game. The developers weren't exactly thorough near the end, I've found... especially if you're not playing w/ any of the expansion packs (ie: Tribunal or Bloodmoon).

As for getting in to Dagoth Ur, the place doesn't "unlock" or anything, as far as I know. You can enter there at any time. You just need to turn the crank which is located on a pipe a little way to the left of the entrance to the citadel. Then run back quickly and enter.

- Sorry if you already knew this, I may have misunderstood your question.

I used to have that same problem with her, and other things in the game where objectives wouldn't clear. Such as when I killed Dagoth Ur the thing wouldn't advance me to the ending movie to finish the main quest, I had to actually invoke the stupid thing with a command to get it to recognize I had finished it off...

OK. I concede. There are people out there smarter than me. My main problem was that I couldn't get into Dagoth Ur. I had looked for that damn handle for at least an hour real time. I took the instruction "look on the left side" to make it appear to my wondering eyes ('scuse the Christmas reference). I am inside now and preparing to battle Dagoth Ur.
Thanks to all for the response and help.
