I feel like a moron, but I am already stuck in the game. I am at the point where I am back in my apartment and I can see through the ceiling into the Tarsis complex.. how do I get there?

Not from there, you get in from another section of the complex. If you don't want to explore, I can tell you exactly.

No thanks, I'll go looking around. It's hard to see with only the flashlight. I assume it's on the same floor, since the elevator is locked?
