Hi. Recently, I upgraded my computer and began using Windows 7, and Thief: TDP has worked surprisingly great so far--many problems I previously had, while running XP, have vanished. Obviously, EAX doesn't work right anymore, but that's what Alchemy's for, right? Well, while that program works fine for Thief 2, it's screwing up with TDP.
Basically, here's what happens: I add TDP to Alchemy, just like I did with Thief 2, but when I go into the game and try to enable Hardware Acceleration, nothing happens. Hardware Acceleration is green, like it should be, but it's set to Off--and nothing causes it to change to On. As such, it's impossible to set EAX to On, resulting in an EAX-less, less-good TDP experience.
The specs that should probably be mentioned:
Windows 7 64-bit
SB Audigy (the first one)
Thief: The Dark Project Platinum
Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Essentially the most recent v1.4x versions of ALchemy are broken, period. You have to use a Dsound.dll from an older version like v1.30 or v1.25. The problem is being discussed (
