I was playing Morrowind today when the game suddenly froze. I thought I'd have to control alt delete out, but after a few seconds it unfroze. I shrugged and started playing again... But I immediatly knew something was wrong. I know what you're thinking. 'How?' Well, using my obviously superior deduction skills I summed up the situation and, though it may not have been so suddenly apparant to others, after only a second I came to the conclusion that, somewhere, things went wrong.
Ordinators were suddenly (
http://www.gigarengou.com/Ordinator.jpg) wearing strange, multicolored pixel-pants, their faces black. Imperial Guards were walking around with their 'skirt' the same color... but worse, (
http://www.gigarengou.com/Imperial.jpg) their feet gone. Parts of houses were suddenly gone, allowing me to see straight through them.
I thought you guys might get a laugh out of it. I'm not sure why it happened, but there must have been an error in reading certain textures. When I reloaded the game everything was fine.
Anything like this happen to anyone else?

Their feet aren't gone; he's just kneeling on the stairs, offering a prayer to Almalexia!
Cute pics, looks like Morrowind visits the 70's show. :D

I know there is that bug in EQ
Some people made some really beautiful pictures of that bug... heh

LOL! :D
I've had weird graphic glitches too, but nothing as spectacular as this. Fortunately, they seem to reside in the game itself, not in the saves, because, as you say, you reload and all is well.
Mine mostly manifest themselves as large pixelly patches on the ground/walls/trees which appear and disappear as you walk past them. I also had missing letters in dialogue boxes, disappearing life bar indicator (i. e. the red colour just wasn't there) and other small things like that.
Didn't someone post pics of a transparent canton in Vivec quite recently?

Probably some kind of reference to a texture within an(some) objects that gets screwed by some obscure bug - when it doesn't get a texture or gets a corrupted(i.e. some kind of palette rotation) texture it shows out as either transparent or psykedelic.

Yeah, some sort of memory management mishap with the graphics. That's never happened on my game, I wish it would o.O All I ever get is that extremely annoying, totally-random crash-to-desktop.
The only other error I get is sometimes the info box ("tooltip" info I guess) when you mouseover stuff disappears, and the only way I can get it back is to unequip and then re-equip something.

Interesting - I get the "brief pause" thing all the time, and assumed it was an interim loading point that wasn't announced on the screen. For example, if I use the Mage's Guild (or othre magic transport) to get to Ald'ruhn, then walk to the silt strider, I'll always get one of these pauses just before getting to the point where I can talk to the silt strider guy.
On the other hand, I don't have trashed textures. Go figure.

Of course, we know that the game pauses when it's loading the next terrain environment, but every time I get a couple of paces from Caius' house, the games pauses for about a second, then goes back to normal. It always does this, with no exception. I wonder if anyone else gets this pause in front of Caius' home?

Yes, I do, but I get the 'loading area' bar with it, so I just assumed that it's where cells change. It's annoying. Once or twice I managed to get in the door before that happened, so it can be done, but with difficulty.

It's pissing me off in a serious way!
But otherwise I have a lot of these "load-breaks" - however it's rather funny that sometimes I get the load bar and at other times I don't... weird!
But I haven't observed any graphic glitches as of yet(and I've played Morrowind a lot!).
