Just had a very successful run. Not only did I make it past 2-1, I made it all the way to 3-2, at which point I stopped playing and quit. I wasn't sure whether the game saves when you quit or not, but it seems it does not. There goes my progress, dammit. Not sure why there's no save function. Playing through this whole thing start to finish will probably take at least 2 hours.
Thanks for pointing out the panels that reveal secrets, Malf. I found a few of those in my last run as well. Very handy. I also discovered that you can increase your max-health
by picking up 4 food-items when you're already at full health, watch the bars beneath the HP-counter. I like how non-hand-holdy this is, in letting your figure out most of the intricacies by yourself. I'd compare it to Dark Souls, but I think I used up the last of my "comparing things to Dark Souls"-goodwill when I descibed Spintires as the Dark Souls of trucking sims.

Hmm, a bit miffed with their GOG patching policy; still no patch on GOG, and on Twitter they say they'll be rolling every two into one on GOG. They do say there should be a patch on GOG today, but I ain't seen it yet.
Dunno why they can't go proper old school and release the patch on their website.

Oh? Well they released Patch 2 today on Steam, so hopefully you'll get them both on GOG now.
Mostly a whole bunch of bug fixes and tweaks to damage-values and sounds.

Really on the fence about this one. I love Rogue-likes/lites and retro style shooters, and I was looking forward to this but now I'm just not totally sure.
