I would watch that movie a thousand times over, I would!

Fortunately, the driver update fixed the performance issues I was having, yay!
And it's really good fun, albeit really tough and I suck at the moment.
But I'll get there, yes I will.
Madly, I saw one review where they really criticised the grenade launcher upgrade to the shotgun, but it's by far and away my favourite upgrade so far! MULTIBOOM!

That movie looks awesome.

I'd back a kickstarter for a full version of that movie. Not so sure about the game.

Common sense tip: if there's a
indie game with
AAA or high quality marketing, ignore it. It means a large portion of the budget is going into marketing, not the game itself. Either that or they got stable funding, but then they're likely no longer indie so this doesn't so much apply.

This is about as far as I'm managed to make it. I don't last long in the Black Canyon. On the bright side I've figured out how to fix the teleporter at the start of that area tho, you need to buy parts for it in the store, after that you'll be able to start the game from there. (I think)
I've yet to find a single secret tho. Tried plenty of wall-humping but to no avail!

You know the story behind Strafe, right?
(
https://www.polygon.com/2017/5/9/15592974/strafe-live-action-trailer-behind-the-scenes) One of the co-founders of Pixel Titans was up-front from the very get-go about having an extensive marketing CV.
And surprise, surprise, the game's actually pretty damn good.

Found a few secrets, some of which I didn't know were secret (had a percent found at the end of the level but don't recall anything special), and some obvious ones.
One was when I clipped through the wall into a small fullbright area and a sampled speech played. Sounded like it was from a cartoon, but I don't know the reference.
And another was the Canon from Serious Sam :D. Unfortunately, while a nice secret, the implementation is completely broken. The canonball gets stuck on level geometry as soon as it leaves the gun. And you can't swap to other weapons while it's still got ammo.
And for further help looking for secrets, one that I found involved shooting a panel high up on a wall to reveal a room with three shield packs in it.
One thing that's taken me by surprise when it really shouldn't have given the name of the game, is that Quake 3 style strafe-jumping works. This means to a Q3 vet like myself, I can build up a good speed in open spaces, and jump massive gaps :D
If you don't know how it works, it's quite difficult to explain, as it's a combination and sequence of controls. First off, it's reliant on double-jump, but not in the familiar sense. Basically, while in the air after pressing jump, press it again. This means that when you land, you'll immediately jump again.
Also while in the air, you should be holding forward and strafe left or right at the same time, curling your view with the mouse to control forward direction. Basically, if you're strafing forward and right, move your view left and vice-versa. That should do the trick. Mind you, that's traditional Q3 strafe-jumping, and it's muscle memory for me now. From the feel of it and how quickly speed builds up, I think Strafe's implementation may be simpler than that.
Oh, and how cool is it that one of the shotgun upgrades is an almost exact replica of Unreal's Flak Canon?!
Digging the room design too, as there some rooms that in shape and design are obviously lifted from iconic Doom rooms :D
