It's really interesting too gradually discover the ways The Nameless One has acted in previous lives, and to contrast that with your own interpretation of him. Seeing the effect of his past actions in the present can be quite depressing, too.
The part with the linguist and the diary was particularly horrible, it made me feel responsible (and even ashamed) for things that I had no control over, without making me pissed off at the game or the mechanism.
I can't think of any other game that actually made me feel ashamed of my character.
Now I've got to start a new game, it's been too long.
