Storyline and plot points... (spoilers)

Okay...
first thread! hi everybody! :D

At what point in the games story do you think Beth Duclare was assassinated? Was it before Deus Ex even began? Or sometime after the raid on Liberty Island?

Also, some other plot points that happen 'in the background', such as Jaime going to Paris (if you choose so), or Alex going to Hong Kong... what point do you think they decide to leave UNATCO?

What about some others? Can you guys think of any? Ive been trying to figure these out latley... just passed off DX for my 4th time last night and when I was trying to sleep afterward this stuff was racing around in my head. Maybe I missed some of the emails when I hacked some computers or something regarding these?

I know its not relevant really. Its just fun to think about and discuss. :)

Firstly, welcome to the forums! My only advice is not to jump straight into the deep end - observe first, then post, so that you don't offend some of the older guys. I only say this because recently we've had a helluvalot of trouble with n00bs, and a lot of ill will has formed (See CommChat). Glad to have you on board anyway :D.

Regarding your post, I believe that most of the storyline events are explained in emails, not explained in that much detail, or just occur whilst you're off doing other things (i.e. Jaime defecting from UNATCO - happened whilst you're off in HK, although the actual date/time is not disclosed).

I'm sure you could put together a timeline of events if you so want to, but most of the detail would be trivial - does it really matter when Beth DuClaire died? - the point is that she's dead ;).

I believe she died quite a bit before the game begins like 5-10 years, I may be wrong.

Thanks for the welcome Stain :) I've lurked here for about a year, but can't contain it anymore, I GOTTA talk about Deus Ex with someone, hehe. I dont think I'll make n00b13 mistakes though.

Anyway about the timeline thing.
I think it would be really interesting to see a Deus Ex time line, as per related to JC Denton's life span. Sort of like the Continuity Bible that GameSpy posted a few months back. You know what I mean?

I'm trying to compile basically an outline of the timeline of all the events from JC's birth until the end of DX1, which is why I originally asked. :)

would make sense that Beth would have been whacked before the game began, since Nicolette makes a reference about how the manor has not turned over even one brick in months, ever since her mother had been killed.

All I remember her talking about is losing her virginity in the hedge maze. I'm sure she said some other stuff, but all I remember is that bit.

I just happened to be at the part of the game where you rescue the Silhoutte hostages in the Catacombs, and Chad just told me that Beth DuClare was assasinated 6 months ago and they suspect MJ12 was involved.
