Anvil is one of my favorite towns. I was asked to rescue some crystal ball from a haunted ship by some lady or another. So I decide to pop in for a bit, figuring the quest will be easy. Immediately I'm faced with some sailor wraith/spectre doo-dah. I manage to kill him, but I find nothing on the first level.
I go down to the bottom level and... Surprise! Two wraiths. I'm faced with two choices: fight or run. Obviously I choose run (since I'd barely killed one of them.) Unfortunately, I choose to run between the two spectres.
So I'm dashing down a narrow hallway with no sodding clue where I'm supposed to go and two spectres screaming at me, waving their cutlasses. I stumble onto a trapdoor, which I take, only to find three more spectres below. I completely forgot that the last two can follow me through doors, so within two seconds they appear behind me.
So what do I do but keep running? I dodge between the three and find the crystal ball on a shelf. It was exactly what I needed. After a constant beating and nearly all my health, I break through the five spectres. I leg it off the ship, all five ghosts in tow.
This is the fun bit. The ghosts start wreaking havoc on the town's populous. For some reason they can't find me (at this time I found it necessary to inspect the bottom of the various ships incase there were... leaks.)
After a long, long time I wade back to shore. Several guards are dead and a decent number of NPCs are also lying lifeless. It wasn't my fault, of course, so I handed over the crystal ball.
Yay for making others do your dirty work!

One interesting side effect of my methodology of play is that I can't keep mental track of quests that I've done, and readily remember aspects or entire quests. I was talking with my classmates, when I busted out an excuse for not helping the team project because I was playing Oblivion. I was immediately onslaughted by 5 people who also played oblivion, and while they were not at the level I was, they brought up a problem on part of the main quest they were having, and I still do NOT remember that part of the main quest.
I felt someone abashed that I was unable to remember something, as if I had not the authority to speak at all on the subject of Oblivion, despite being the most knowledgable about it(including the developers). I quickly made the excuse that I had done some 300 quests in the past week, and they found that an adequate alibi.
Another problem this affliction entailed is that I was arrested as per the hidden treasure quest in Bruma(Arrested for 1g by moving a guards quill), and on my way out of that 'long' jailing time, I was approached and attacked by a short fellow with a bald head. I looked at him with an unconvinced eye as he attempted to get through my defenses with what appeared to be a rusty dagger. Quickly some altmer fellow named Eildor or something rushed to my aid and silenced this Costanza look alike. I recieved a quest tip that showed this was some guard I got jailed for killing some beggar dunmer or some such.
I said, "Oh." and moved onto a Tamriel with no quests for me to do.

On my level one(limited to not level) character, the first task I set myself to do was master the arena. This proved an easy feat for Tuco, but for Etunak(my level one character), it was somewhat challenging at parts. He was a spell caster, hgih elf, under the apprentice sign. One particularly difficult matchup was against a spell caster that was immune to all my spells.
Anyway, one of the final matches is one against 3 combatants who were, honestly, better equipped, trained and geared than I was(I had whatever armor I got from the sewers), however, I had one valiant companion on my side. I had a pig. My first attempts at domination were an all out assault upon the mage, then a concentrated effort on the archer, hoping I could get them down by the time I ran out of mana. This proved to be a fool's errand as I failed to get even the mage down. Using my superior brain, I noticed that they never attacked the pig. How worthless it was! Except immunity by ignorance is immunity indeed and immunity offers the chance to also be immutably aggressive. I allowed this pig to be my sword and spell as I ran around wildly, avoiding arrows, fire and blade while the pig ran up to each combatant, one by one, and boared it to death.

Not excactly a story, but:
Sheogorath + Plague of Fear = Best shrine quest ever.
The Black Courier you can read about it afterwards is a nice addition. Rain of Mage. :cheeky:

heh, yeah. Sheogorath outdid himself that time.

Just started that quest today and on the way to that village i came across some cave. Thought "Ok, quick peak, probably just trolls or some bore like that".
I went in and promptly got attacked by a Marauder. Killed him, then ran at some other dudes i saw farther in. Suddenly arrows start wizzing from the right, hitting the dudes who dont as expected attack me on sight, but keep whacking each other, all the while getting riddled with arrows by some archer on the right. One of the guys gets killed, i mop the archer and the weakened other. Turns out the Black Bow Bandits and Marauders had a fun little war going on in there.
I hear more fighting noises up ahead, storm into a cave, whack some Bosmer who barrs my way into it. I see some Black Bow pounding away at an orc in full daedric and another Black Bow summoning some shit. I kill the summon and the mage then think "Yeah, lets kill the Marauder Warlord first, why not team up with the Blackbow for the moment". So i hack away at the orc too, which is at fairly low health already. Only turns out it isnt a Marauder Warlord but Mazoga the Orc (from that White Stallion Knight quest). So Blackbow Pal gets it instead. Mazoga then walks off babbling about her usual stuff, i heal her abit to be sure, then march on.
I go into the next area, killing some two or three more (that cave was stuffed) and theres even more fun to be had, first another two duking it out, then some huge cave with like 10 people having at each other with thunderbolts and bows and oh my. Just swooped in and cleaned up the leftovers, gore galore heaven. Both me and the horse were loaded to the max with swag, made about 10k (with the bounties for the Black Bows) and i didnt even go to some of the richer merchants and left most of the heavier daedric stuff behind. Rockmilk Cave, gonna remember that name, great action, great loot :ebil:
Shit gotta sleep now :s
A (
