what's up with the merchants...
they are all slowly turning into tight fisted scumbags..
even though their disposition to me is usually 100... and my
mercantile skills is going up...
yet they seem to be wanting to pay less n less for items....
(side note: it amuses me how they wear stuff u sold em)
i've got probably like a few hundred thousand gp's worth of stuff
i haven't bothered selling because the merchants got stingy...
items upto like 5k each... i got like 6 partial orc armour suits.. and orc axes
and war hammers etc etc etc... u get the point...
i don't really need the money.. i am carrying like 74k worth with me already
and i know i can just sell to creeper if i really need the money...
but just wondering what the gee ohh (go) is...

Mercantile apparently works in reverse for merchants... something of a bug.

That's what some on here have said, ayup; I've had mixed results so I'm not sure how valid it is though.

Interesting - it would be nice to know how extensive the personality response is intertwined - race, gender, guilds, reputation, bounty, personality, speechcraft and mercantile, clothes and apearance - I wonder to what extent they are dependent on pne another? I have a friend who swears his clothes - exquisite - actually effect the response of others to his character.

Also, you always get a higher rating from NPCs when you greet them with no weapon drawn as opposed to having some weapon in your hand. Its only a few points, but it can make a difference. Also I think it makes a difference in your persuasion successes... for example, you're more likely to win an intimidation attempt with the Umbra Sword in your hand, I think... (unless I'm imaginging things, but I swear that's true) :)

next time try repairing your stuff before you sell it.
