Hello everybody!
I am not english, so i hope you understand my mistakes while writing.
I've installed my Thief 1 - Dark Project again, on my Windows 7. Everything seems to be fine except the movies. I am not able to play the movies, neither on their folders neither in the gameitself (like the "Intro" movie for example).
I tried the things that are posted here on FAQ, but no sucess at all:
1) I´ve done the bat file thing
2) I've reeinstalled the ligos/Indeo codecs, from the CD
3) I´ve tried that stuff where i should insert «regsvr32 "d:\Games\Thief1\LGVID.AX"» on "Run"
None of these options were able to allow me to play the movies. I cant play them even directly.
My computer is a little older, a 2006 laptop Asus, but its able to play games like Deus Ex or Call of Ctulhu for example.
Its a Intel Pentium M processor, 1,86 GHz, 1,0GB RAM, Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910 GML Express Chipset Family
The drivers are recent, and the codes are recent too.
Do you have more ideas that may help me to solve my problem?
Thank you a lot.

Thanks for the tip, but still dont work :-(
I've installed the full, and most recent, k-lite codec path.No result.
I still dont get whats my problem...
But thanks anyway!

I forgot to say that even with all the codecs (k-lite, indeo, etc) the videos still dont have image (just audio) when i play them on their folder.
Thats strange, because with the codecs its suppose to work, at least out of the game.

Also, before i installed the k-lite codec pack, it would simply not play movies, after i installed it, the entire game crashes now

Hmm, never heard of that before. Apologies for it crashing your computer! Try uninstalling k-lite and any other codec packs you have, make sure UAC is off, and re-install k-lite. You could also try the k-lite standard rather than mega pack as that will reduce the number of other codecs it tries to install.
Audio working but not video means that the video codec is either clashing or hasn't been installed.
Another one to try is (
http://www.xpcodecpack.com/) XPCodecPack, which does a similar thing but various reports say it is less successful than k-lite.
Edit - make sure you register the video codec each time before you play Thief - ddfix does this automatically (providing the flag in the ini file is set correctly) - see the Thief FAQ stickied here for instructions. If you don't register the codec each time, then the movies won't play properly, so try this first if you haven't already.

What is UAC and how can i turn it off?
About the ddfix thing, i dont find on search/faqs the way to register it every time i play.

ddfix.ini:
Code:
;Set to 1 to automatically register lgvid.ax each time thief is started up
VideoFix=1
That's how it's set in the sample ini file. Unless you edited that yourself, lgvid.ax is registered by ddfix every time the game starts.

Great, well now when I'm attempting to save that videofix option, i get a warning that says it cannot be created, that i need to check that the path and filename are correct....any idea what this might be about?
