You backstab by striking while unseen... just make sure you see the stealth indicator.

yeah, I just struggled through this too... I finally got her to attack me by failing to pickpocket her. She's the only one that comes after you then, and the bounty for me was only 25 after I killed her.

Yup, since my speechcraft is pretty low that's how I get silly people to attack me; just fail a pickpocket. :cheeky:

Everyone has been havin troble with this one huh. I have stumbled on what to do without paying any fine. What you do ie remove from wearing everything. Then talk to her, she should accually talk to you. and then taunt kill her. There you go. And dont say you came up with this your self, becuase you wouldnt be here if you didnt.

I slaughtered everyone in the inn..as well as the guards trying to stop me. Of course in more delicate situations I use:
1. Sword of the Beanbag- A custom enchanted long sword with Disintegrate Armor and Drain Fatigue. It puts the guy unconcious, whereupon you can loot the sleeping body at ease, then simply pay the fine for getting into a fight in the first place.
All else fails, just slaughter em I say. Why pay the fines when guards are willingly disposable anyway?

I got lucky with that one, I just opened the door and she turned around realy quick, said something very nord, and jumped me. I managed to get her into the hallway and closed the door before her bonewalker could get out. nobody even noticed
