I went through the same phase with SS2 way back when, I always tried to have more weapons than I should and far more ammo than I should. I'll probably taper off eventually, I hardly ever use anything not on my toolbelt anyways, but it's hard to convince myself not to double up items when, say, I'm in Versalife and have just gotten my hands on a bunch of augmentation canisters. There's a med bot right nearby, but who wants to make 3 or 4 trips back and forth between the 'bot and the canisters? Why not just stack 'em up, install all the ones you can, then chuck the junk ones and move on?
1. Drop GEP gun.
2. Pick up canisters
3. Upgrade, for SCIENCE!
4. Drop useless canisters.
5. Pick up GEP gun.
Is that so hard?

Except more than once, one tends to forget the last part  :o . What, it's just me :erm: ?
But re-playing SS1 over the weekend, got to really longing for stackable items. Sure, exploiting the bugs in the program might not be up everyone's alley, but does help when making all sorts of weird experiments that require you to have a few extra weapons around. Personally, I'm often found carrying Flame-thrower and GEP gun. Can't really be bothered with the Plasma gun.

Actually, Dam, you're not alone in forgetting to pick up what you dropped. Or, even worse, forgetting where you dropped it. Or throwing it down and accidently throwing it off a high ledge into a location where you'll never find it again.
I'm just impatient, if it's the fastest way to do something, I'll do it. But I'm sure all will be happy to know I haven't used this exploit once so far during my melee weapon only campaign currently underway. :p

If this isn't to old, and if anyone's still interested, you can actually talk to Stephanie and she gives you a username and password for the security. But she only did this after I'd been though the tunnels and cleared the base... :erg:
