I went on a merry rifle rampage through Deus Ex the other day, and again, I noticed a very odd woman in Vandenburg. I'm fairly certain she was Stephanie Maxwell, she was being held hostage by 2 troopers above the hallway which has a rolling cart with a TNT crate conveniently placed not a few feet from a bunch of mean troopers.
When everyone is dead, no matter how long I wait, she simply will not talk. I always assumed she was just traumatized, and I'd have to wait a few minutes before she'd snap out of it, so I continued on my way. No matter how long I wait, no matter whether I have a weapon equipped or not, she doesn't react to me. I can frob her, but she won't move. She just stops dead and won't do a thing. A few times she's stopped dead in a doorway and it takes a little throat slitting to kill her so I can move her out of my way.
I post this here because I saw in the credits a voice actress was credited for doing the voice acting for her, can anyone remember off-hand what she says?
:ebil: Now I return to DX. I didn't start truly going over to the rifles until Paris, I'm thinking I should specialize in nothing but rifles this time through. Shotguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles . . . :ebil: Simply beautiful. :cheeky: Then again, so is the whole damn game. :p

Just for that you get a :thumb:
Can't help you with the maxwell lady though, I think I've encountered her before but she wouldn't talk. Is she a labcoat lady with blonde hair? If so she said nothin to me, I think I was all dissapointed with the lack of thanks that I tried to kneecap her.
Having said that, my memory is akin to that of a goldfish.
This is stroking my curiosity, I think I'm gonna give it a go.

I think I know were you are now, there should be an electrified flooded room nearby? I think when she talks(if at all) it's "get away from me" or "thanks but I can't help you" I'm probobly wrong though
BTW :wot: how the hell do you have room for all those weapons?
When I play I usually have to choose between AR and AS, Gep or snipe.

Wow, I'm smart. :laff: Post a screenie where I'm very clearly exploiting a bug to the extreme. :erm: I'm sure some of you have heard of it. What you do is go into the inventory screen, and drag an item to the far left hand side of the screen. Say, the sniper rifle. Then, press F1 to go back into game mode. The game considers the space the item you dragged to the side of the screen to be free, but it's still there. Then, you can pick up the Dragon's Tooth Sword, and they'll both be in the same slots.
It all honesty, I wasn't using the stealth pistol or the assault shotgun at all. The former was too weak and the latter wasn't modified to my liking. I was mainly swapping between the shotgun and the sniper rifle. If I needed to sniper something, I'd use the rifle until I ran low on ammo, then switched to the shotgun, used up all of one type of ammo, then the other, then rinsed and repeated. The GEP gun was saved for blowing apart lockers and robots.
 So she really doesn't say much, then? Guess it explains why I was able to still tear apart that place with my bare hands without any info from her. Then again, there's so many different ways to do everything that one can never mess up without having 5 different ways around their problem.

You're not serious, are you? Surely you've heard of the "inventory stacking" egg/bug/cheat. Check below for details.
Using it can give you the ability to carry nearly unlimited amounts of material. Say that, for instance, you wanna carry a GEP and a Flamethrower. I'll say you have the GEP first. Click and drag the GEP over to the "description" side of the screen, right click, and let go. If you did it right, the area that held the GEP should look empty (It's not really, you're just tricking the system). Exit from the inventory screen and pick up the Flamethrower. It make take a few tries to get it right, but stacking is relatively easy once you get the hang of it. Keep in mind that if the second object is the size as the first object, the second object will disappear unless you drop the first object to reveal it (or unless you have an empty spot on the toolbelt). Inventory Stacking is especially useful for storage of consumables like foods and drinks (as there are many and they can clutter up the inventory).
I've never really tried to cheat or exploit a bug cheat before. Everone knows cheating ruins the gameply. This is one of the few games in which I don't want to spoil the fun.
But having finished it quite a few times now It might spare me some grief.

I went through the same phase with SS2 way back when, I always tried to have more weapons than I should and far more ammo than I should. I'll probably taper off eventually, I hardly ever use anything not on my toolbelt anyways, but it's hard to convince myself not to double up items when, say, I'm in Versalife and have just gotten my hands on a bunch of augmentation canisters. There's a med bot right nearby, but who wants to make 3 or 4 trips back and forth between the 'bot and the canisters? Why not just stack 'em up, install all the ones you can, then chuck the junk ones and move on?

Isn't she the one who asks you to look for her lab assistant? He's the one locked in a storage cupboard and offers you some grenades IIRC...

That woman speaks to me, she's on the first floor in the wing directly opposite the wing the silent woman's in. The silent woman is on the second floor, but the talkative one with the trapped assistant is on the first floor. The silent woman is sitting down on a couch with 2 MJ12 baddies I believe.
