My unarmed is at 100, agility 94 and speed 87. Strength is only 42.
I can beat most countryside critters easily unarmed but I have trouble with other enemies.
Will increasing strength affect the damage I do?
Why do I ask? Because weapons (eg my Warhammer) do 2-32 damage. I seems that 32 would be the highest damage dealable by this weapon.
Does strength affect the damage dealt at all, or is it just for carrying stuff?

Strength does increase damage dealt. It also increases the chance that you'll knock the oponent down.

Tuco, why is a warhammer crappy? I'm playing as monk class and thus have 100 unarmed and blunt weapon as a minor.
I thought of restarting with a custom class but I kind of like the simplicity of my character.

Tuco think that everything that hasn't to do with dragons in morrowind is crappy...
However the warhammers haven't got enough damage potential to counter their enormous weight... 96 lbs for a Daedric Warhammer - isn't even more than the cuirass?
I think that really sucks. Long blades are best - and has most effective attack modes, axes second(though Tuco for some reason think they look more impressive - They don't but...), spears third.... blah blah blah ... hammer last! IMHO - and anyway you aren't playing a carpenter!

What's so ineffective about hammers? Apart from the weight disadvantage they deal good damage don't they? I want to enchant mine with frost on strike. I've seen a cheaop enchanted one in Vivec that I might buy/steal though.

On the other hand, if you're simply attracted to the "big guy/woman with a big hammer" look, make yourself a quick mod that changes the stats on the hammer of your choice to bring it in line with the rest of the weapons...

i'm walking around with Magebane. it looks sick but i'm just waiting till i can handle the guy gaurding crescent. i've got the amulet, and i tried it (saving first of course) and died pretty quick. Crescent is a damn sweet blade
