it's 75% off! BUT ONLY FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS! BUY IT NOW BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!
ugh it's even worse when its not the daily deal cause you wanna wait in case it does get put on it and you gotta check every 12 hours and GAAH
That's why I refuse to buy any game, no matter how cheap, unless I know I will play it within the next 1-2 weeks

I vastly prefer this format. I can look at everything that's on sale, see what on my wishlist is on sale, and give some serious thought to how likely it is that I'm going to play these games. The old sale structure added this pressure where maybe I only kind of want this game, but it's 75% off! BUT ONLY FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS! BUY IT NOW BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE! And that's how I end up with L.A. Noire in my library and no intention to play it.
The problem there is that these lists go on for agggeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssssssssssssss. And I mean ages. One persons must have, is anothers terrible game unworthy of play, so it's more looking for a needle in haystack. A needle that may take you an hour or so to find.

Well, if you know what you want to get, it really isn't a problem? Like faetal says, that's where maintaining a wishlist comes in handy. And if you don't, I believe that's what this whole 'discovery queue' thing is for, though I couldn't care less about algorithmised recommendations. Look at your friends' wishlists, maybe.

I can't even tell, are they adding/changing things for the sale or a daily or semi regular basis? I see they have "Today's Highlighted Deals" but that doesn't necessarily mean those games weren't on sale already.

They aren't. All items have been on sale since day 1.

Yes, they were on sale already. "Today's highlighted deals" is a pretty fucking obvious concept, the keyword is
"highlighted".

Dial back the xmas spirit a bit - I can only handle so much cheer in one go.

Well, youre not
obligated to buy something just because a sale is on... it's ok to miss out.

Thanks Eva, um, I think...? :laff:

All this has been on sale before, all this will be on sale again. Probably for less.

Why aren't they doing the fun party version of the sales anymore? It's a bit insidious but I imagine they worked pretty well.
I might pick up the Dishonoured DLC finally as that's going cheap enough for me at the moment
There's a few other things worth picking up (I really want to get into Soma for instance), but it becomes ridiculous when you note that you haven't played the ones from similar decisions made last year yet.
