IS NOT ON YET KEEP URE PANTSE ON
but it's bound to start ANY MOMENT now. The two past years it started on June 25 and 30 iirc. When will it start this year? Who knows! Some people said it would start yesterday, but it didn't. Some nasty evil people say it won't start until July 12th. That can't be right. My money is on... tonight! In 2 hours and 40 minutes to be exact. Trust me on this, I have a gut feeling about it. Then again I've been having the same gut feeling every night of the week when 8pm (Finland-time) rolls around and I refresh my Steam frontpage, only to be disappointed to see it's not on yet.
So until the sale starts consider this the Steam Summer Sale Anticipation thread.
Won't it be great when it finally gets here, eh guys? :D

I don't have time to play the games on my backlog, let alone more games. But I bet I'll end up buying some anyway.

I will end up spending more on seemingly trivially priced games than I have spent on full priced games in the last 3 months. And I probably won't play half of them.

Love these steam sales, even if I don't get around to playing the games till a year later (due to my huge backlog of games).
Makes me wonder how huge our backlogs will be 10 years from now. I'm finding it hard enough to keep up now. Had Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and The Witcher 2 sitting around since Christmas.

Yeah Jason, the Dawn of War Weekend Deal makes me think the same thing. Seems unlikely Steam would have a weekend sale and the summer sale overlap. :erg:

They've been okay with having overlaps before. I think you're just gonna have to wait a bit anyhow.
In fact, I hope so, because I'm gonna be moving this weekend (finally!) and hence netless. Thus, if the sale goes on by then I'll basically be doing the equivalent of sticking my thumbs in my ears and going, 'La la la la' while looking the other way. This way, my backlog remains merely gargantuan instead of Sisyphean, and you guys get to know the pleasure of exquisitely, almost painfully delayed release. It's a win-win!
