I'm playing through it now. I loved up until I reached this one boss that's practically a long, drawn out war of attrition between the both of us. It's put a bit of a damper on the parade that came before it.

Typically if a boss feels super impossible (as opposed to just a massive PitA) you probably missed a piece of equipment or a spell or something somewhere. It's also possible, although unlikely, that you're underlevelled.

I'm fighting Guilan in the lava abyss. I've managed to work out his attack pattern, and can avoid him more often than not. The problem is, he has 1300 HP, while I only have 144. We basically spend 10 minutes nickel and diming each other, with him having the one big advantage of having a fuckton more HP.
One of the things I do is get him to chase me in a circle when he first emerges from one of the lava pits. If I charge up my wind bracelet, I can manage to take about 60-90 HP off of him before his flames die down, and he starts roaming the battlefield. The problem is, if I don't control the attack perfectly, he'll take about 20-30 HP off of me. My only other option is to whittle him down very, very slowly over time.
Though I will try to level up a bit to see if that helps at all.

Grabbed "Her Story" since it's on special (50% off). Got good reviews so was like meh.
If Dark Souls 3 and Doom get a good discount (60% or better) I'll grab those.

I kinda miss the old flash sales thing, but I think this way I would spend a lot less as you can see up front what deals there are.

Same here, when it was single page was better. To give a comparison, when it was flash sale / 1 page only I would generally spend $200-$400 per sale. Now only about $100 if that.

It's just a change in format; the more time you have to go over stuff the better, IMO. This sale particularly is a bit underwhelming though since the discounts and the range of them are pretty uneven. Things I was interested in are 20-33% off or less, whereas some things I'm not bothered about are 80% off. I'm pretty sure previous recent sales - along with the winter one - had better discounts for newer games in comparison.
