I start mine up by pushing the main button dead center on the Steam Controller. Not sure if there's a comparable way with other controllers, but I'm guessing there is. Shutting down is easily done through the menus.

Just tried to connect my Dualshock 4 via Bluetooth, but it didn't work - the Steam Link wouldn't recognise it. Ah well, guess I'll stick with my current setup for now. I've now put the Steam Controller on my wishlist, at least, so I should get a notification once it drops in price. I might just pick it up then.

Hooking the DS4 up with a USB cable works tho.

I barely used the <strike>damn thing</strike> Steam Link before I gave up on it, but iirc you can press the DS4 power button to turn it on as well.
