Shiiit. This is scary and bad timing.
One thing tho... I couldn't buy a game a couple of days ago (cause it lost my credit card infos and all cause I had reinstalled it and such) so I tried to access my internet bank to allow it (cause that's how it happens, right? It's been ages since I did anything like this) but foolishly forgot my password (password is in another place where I won't be arriving for some days) so I never got to allowing the transaction (or linking my bank to steam I guess). I hope that means my bank account is safe...

I always knew Steam has carried the risk and frankly, the convenience and benefit of the service (much like most online stuff) outweighs the rare rare risk when these kind of fuckups happen. At the same time I never try saving my CC info online either (just wanted to log in to make sure it didnt accidentally do it cause I forgot to uncheck remember me).
Not that I'm saying it's excusable. Valve will seriously need to make it up for customers whose details got stolen, but its gonna be a nightmare to sort that out.

The only details that were exposed were e-mails and some mailing addresses. Credit card info wasn't compromised, and nobody was able to edit payment details for any of the accounts they got directed to.
I also haven't seen any credible reports of theft or purchases being made.

Yeah, but you hating Steam for whatever reason shouldn't make you happy at other people's misfortune. It's not logical. You don't like Steam. If you don't use it why the hell do you care?

Btw, I also hate on steam every now and again. This took it to a whole other level, though.
