The (
http://store.steampowered.com/) Steam Halloween Sale is on. But if you go to the Steam frontpage you can't see the sales, only feel their ghostly presence! If you work up the never to check out the Specials page you'll see all the spooky deals currently going on. Or just go to (
https://steamdb.info/sales/#sales-section-halloweensale) steamdb. Anyway, Soma is -15%. Cheap enough for a cheapskate like me to get it. But perhaps I'll wait a bit longer anyway, see if it comes up as a daily deal or something. Anyone else find any good deals?
edit: alright, now it's fully online. Also I bought Spirits of Xanadu for €5 and Shadowrun: Dragonfall DC for €3.

Didn't see anything new that jumped out at me - I was looking at some legacy type stuff that I'd like to add to my Steam account. Resident Evils 4-6, Condemned, System Shocks, Call of Cthulhu, etc. Thing is with most horror games, most of the ones I want I have already.

Got Pathologic Classic HD, but only because I kickstarted it months ago. :p So far, the translation is a massive improvement (but not entirely error free.)
Another great game in that sale is Viscera Cleanup Detail. I bought it ages ago when it was still in early access, and it's less of a gimmick than it sounds. It's a casual game for hardcore shooter fans that has you put on marigolds and mop up blood and guts from the aftermath of an alien rampage. Lots of mopping, dumping giblets and empty shell casings into crates which then get carted to the incinerator, and plugging up bullet holes with a welder. Most of the strategy is trying not to make more of a mess by trampling blood everywhere, and it's satisfying to make the place sparkly clean. I'd recommend it to anyone who used to doodle in class, draw a shape, and then compulsively need to fill it in with pen.

I'm torn between playing this version and just waiting for the remake. If it wasn't for my huge backlog, I'd go for the former, but, well...

The devs say they're releasing it - partially - as a pre-emptive apology for how much the remake is going to be different, and I keep pestering them to not stay true to the original. :D (how's that for fan-boy?)
If you finish it with all three characters it'll take around 72 hours, so you could probably just skip it and go back to your backlog, and then pick up from the remake. I love it, but it's old and flawed. Game seriously is a bin raiding simulator, and I suspect that's something they're going to ditch.

Just got Hammerwatch, seems like a good little timewaster. Also, fyi, Postmortem is 74 cents now if you havent gotten a chance to tell me how much it sucks yet :p

I've actually been meaning to do a second run through Postmortem. The first run was ok, although tbh I can't remember who I chose the first time.

I picked up Pathologic HD (just prior to the sale though) - never made a serious attempt to play the game before and it's one I've been wanting to commit to. I'm also in on the Kickstarter remake, but I thought it might be cool to play the original first, and then hit the remake when it comes out in a year or so.
Halloween sale - zombie fest! I picked up Resident Evil 4, Dead Rising 2, and and indie game called Survivalist that I've had my eye on for a while. Between these and my current playthrough of Dying Light (and watching The Walking Dead), I'm gonna get sick of these guys.
And not really part of the Halloween sale, but I ordered a Steam Link to try out, hoping it arrives in time for Fallout 4.

Dead Rising 3 you mean? Let us know how that one turns out. Liked DR2 a lot and I'm kinda interested in the 3rd one. It's gonna have to be cheaper than the current €20 tho.
