Back in the day
"Back in the day" publishes hadn't yet cottoned on that people would still pre-order and buy stuff regardless of the bugs.
Don't hate the game, hate the player.

Alrighty, buckled under the pressure and picked up Inside and Doom.
Also picked up a little something called Thi4f on the PS4. Maybe you've heard of it? It was only €6, and, crazy as it sounds, I kinda wouldn't mind a third go-around.

I just bought Endless Legend, based upon how much I loved both the demo, and Dungeon of the Endless (which I recommend everyone here buy right now). It was only $8. I couldn't resist.

I was seriously considering getting that as well as I liked the PC version. While it's pretty hard to resist at that price, I'm a tad suspicious that it might end up as a free game for December judging by the price drop.
As far as the Steam sale is concerned, I had no intention of buying anything this time but ended up with This War of Mine, Renowned Explorers: International Society, SOMA and Fallout 4. As I purchased F4 through GMG (it was a few dollars cheaper), they also threw in The Nightmare Cooperative as a bonus game. I misread the offer of a mystery game at the checkout and also ended up with an additional one called Hoven the Sages Spinel for $1.

I picked up Invisible Inc. and it's DLC. Been having a lot of fun with it, but the documentation (woefully incomplete and sometimes just wrong descriptions of items and objects) is definitely annoying. I'm referring to wikis and forums almost constantly to figure out what's what. And even with all that, sometimes I get things like the time I went to a great deal of effort to get into an inner vault - and got all of 1000 credits worth of research objects. Seriously, I think I'd've gotten a lot more credits out of two vault missions than a keycard mission followed by a vault mission.

Funny, I picked it up too recently for 10 bucks for my new PS4 Pro, and within 10 minutes I was completely frustrated with the awful controls and terrible storyline and god awful mechanics and NEED I GO ON.

Comeon. The controls weren't that bad.

I picked up a Steam Link.
Having recently had a go at ESO during the free weekend I've realised how I'm finding it almost impossible to play any sort of first person game on my laptop (top-down fare like Civilization or Pillars of Eternity is far more manageable) - I'm sitting far too close to the screen for my liking. Anything to help me cast the picture onto a big screen.

Sad to say my Steam Link has mostly just been gathering dust since I got it, along with the Steam Controller.

Probably the best game I played this year. Loved it to bits. :)

Any particular reason why?
