Other than that, using a bow from long distance can be stealthy, but I've yet to shoot someone and not be detected after that. Maybe it's possible at higher skill or with some chameleon going on
It takes a couple seconds after your first arrow strikes for the AI to "find" you, and if you're quick enough you can land a second arrow before it does and still get the 3x damage bonus. I've been able to do it a couple times. It's a poor substitute for being able to remain hidden while firing, but I've never seen any indication that the AI won't automatically lock on to you after it's been hit.

If you can sneak close enough to hit them with a sword, you get 6x sneak attack bonus.

Lately I've been enjoying mixing up "drain health" potions to dip my arrow tips in, very nice. It adds to the feeling of stealth to shoot them from far off and have their health just drain away while they try to run after me, only to die at my feet!

Ragdoll physics isn't meant to be realistic. It's meant to be entertaining! That's why I love Thief: DS so much. Those bendy spines are very cool.
I guess, but its just a bit too over the top for me sometimes. I shot a wolf with my bow on a slope going down a mountain, the carcas must have rolled and flopped the equivalent of 100 yards before it stopped. That's just plain ridiculous. Here I am chasing the thing just to get my arrows back and I can't even keep up with it!

The Thieves' Guild is pretty awesome. I love the Gray Fox... he's such a mysterious character. I am on the verge of the Ultimate Heist, and soon... yes, soon... I shall uncover the truth.

Anyone have a picture of what Garret looks like without his hood on? I wanna make a "non-lethal" garret build and try it out.
Skills probably would be..
Marksman
Security
Sneak(Of course)
Blunt (BLACKJACK!....this is the "non-lethal" part though it will still kill)
Light Armor(The hood from the first dungeon would make him look awesome)
well thats 5 out of 7...any other thoughts? maybe daggers and alchemy? those are my thoughts anyway.

You either take blade or blade, and for stealth blade is most likely better since you can get lightweight daggers and short blades.
I'd also recommend alchemy so you can make poisons, which can turn a tough enemy into butter.

True, but if i switch out blunt for blade, I still have 1 spot left. Maybe acrobatics(climbing gloves minus the climbing.) Or I can keep both, crushing something with a spiked mace just has a satisfying feel to it that evisceration lacks :ebil: . There are also a bunch a spell skills I can sub in to make up for flash bombs, mines, holy water, fire arrows, etc.
I can still only find pictures of garret's face. Though I think I may just assume that garret has a very short hairstyle, like a crew-cut or something. also need to figure out a Race. Wood Elf wood..er would be perfect stat-wise but I can't picture a garret with pointy ears. Imperial maybe, but it seems almost too generic.

I noticed that at the beginning of the game, when you're under the emperor's palace, having stealth on all the time acts as sort of an enemy detector. You creep around and do stuff, and when you get the message that your stealth has increased you know that there's an enemy nearby. Neat.

The only bad part is Sneak increases too easily. I have a 11th Level thief with 92 Sneak but my other highest skill is at 45.
