I always shoot every speaker whenever I can. The one on the military base in the Cordon area is always the first to go.

I don't think that there's any advantage in doing it. I just shoot them because the noise annoys me.

But what if you shoot the speakers with a silenced gun from a long distance away? They try to activate the sirens but nothing happens, so it takes far longer to alert the rest of the group of your presence.
At least that's more logical than shooting sirens made no difference at all.

I never noticed any difference after shooting the speakers. The enemies are still alerted to my presence.

It would be great if shooting the sirens gave you a little more time to stay around the area without too many pissed off guards.
