i sat on the bridge and watched them all line up trying to run up the hill towards me. then got out ye olde AK-74su and blew em away :D

Oh, I tried shooting'em in the face about two times...only managed to kill the one guy 'fore they bulletraped me. But after getting a better suit and the AK (or Obokan), I tore ass so neatly I felt Rambo with head bandana and all that :D (ironically, it was more satisfactory in a sense than clearing up the military base set up at the Agropon Institute...go figure...).

My favourite fight so far would have to be the first shootout between stalkers and bandits in garbage, over in the warehouse. loved it!

Ah, but I shot him in the face with the sawn-off shotgun, then got his gun and used it to kill his friends :)

Gotta love when they get attacked by boars or bandit mobs coming from the Garbage entry.
As for smart tactics, I once tried dropping a grenade on them when they sit at the fire after nightfall. Slipped and fell down right next to em. Xp

No one's mentioned that you can shoot the siren in the base from a distance before it goes off, though it's unclear if this will alert all the guards anyway.
I've only gone into the base during daylight from the tunnel, and the tower guy always sees me immediately.
