Since I can't see a damn thing in darkness, I do have a hard time spotting patrolling soldiers. ;)
I was lucky to get inside the base alive, there I could relax while taking out soldiers in the doorway. Those poor bastards just don't get the message when a pile of bodies is lying there.

Here's a hint: Use your binoculars, they spot enemies.

They won't make things any easier for me to see if they don't have non-washed out night vision.

Huh? Go during the day. That's what I did. I came out of the sewer and it was daytime, so I went.
Pure stealth, no kill, no alarm, no patches AND during the day. Dayyum I'm one slick mofo.
Also: Sneak into the building, go to the very top and knife that alarm for some peace and quiet.

I went in the dark just to make it slightly easier to get into the base.
All I could think about was 'What the fuck?' when I heard the siren after I killed a guy in the watch tower near the hole in the outer wall of the base. Because I used a silenced pistol and there is not a chance in hell any of the others could have heard it nor the guy's death grunts.
Jashin on 21/4/2007 at 19:29
That's your problem then. If you open fire somebody will know. The stealth pistol is too inaccurate to be useful.
Doesn't matter if they're near (outside of the 5 yard range for no-patch) as long as they back is against you.

I didn't open fire, I climbed the stairs of the watch tower and took the guy there out with a headshot. It is both unfair and unrealistic that the siren went off. And to make sure I wasn't spotted from somewhere else, I just stood in the stairs and waited for a while; no siren. So I guess this was triggered because the dude in the tower activated it with his ghost after dying.
Jashin on 21/4/2007 at 19:50
How do you know the dude didn't have a walkie talkie and somebody heard his death grunt through that? Or if they were doing a round of radio checks and that dude didn't talk back?
See, you're making up your own rules here :joke: You're saying your way SHOULD work. I'm saying if that doesn't work, try something else.
And you did open fire.
Bjossi on 21/4/2007 at 19:57
That theory of yours is very far fetched and you know it. ;)
Jashin on 21/4/2007 at 19:59
Yeah, it's my analogy of you making up your own rules for the game.
Obviously the game's trying to imitate life as best as it can, so for you to insist that it be lifelike is pointless. If it doesn't work, try something else.
