Vertex Weld seems to have fixed the problem.
Thanks

I sort of asked this question a couple of times before but since I haven't been able to really focus on 3D Studio Max while still being in need of a couple of FMs for the property reasons, I wanted to ask if it would be a relatively simple thing if I made some (additive) brush constructions in T3Ed and someone familiar with 3DSM could turn them into static meshes...?
Ziemanskye and Flux have done this for me from subtract brushes and just in case this is much simpler than doing everything from scratch I'd start building some brushy things in T3Ed. Like (
http://darkfate.ru/?thumbs=files/fan-missions/Thief3/Hermes/screenshots/screen04) this for instance; only made from brushes since using stock SMs would probably result in importing issues as well... although with the present and the next city project I'd also like to have a couple of façade tools like small rows/panels of 2x4 standard windows which can be textured one by one (lit/unlit etc.) or maybe complete façades. I'm using both str8g8's and the stock SMa with a couple of beams and windows in but they can be used only in a quite limited way. There is generally speaking no other way to get the TDS static meshes into 3DSM without the tim->e->34eds converter tools, right? But maybe I can make some brush constructions like the one linked above and someone makes a simple SM of it instead of fifty.

In terms of packing things for transport, I think the easiest way to do it is make whatever brush shapes you want, compile it, then shrink-wrap (well, intersect) the Builder Brush to it and export the brush to *.dxf
Shouldn't matter if it's additive or subtractive, or some combination of the two, just as long as when you shrink-wrap it comes away right. I can't remember if importing df files in max keeps the texture co-ordinates, but it wont hurt to make things properly textures before you export.
For current static meshes, I think you're right, and it's the roundabout way through the timtoE converter, but once converted and imported you can clone things about in Max similarly to how it goes in TDS
Which, I think, roughly translates as "Learn to use 3DS max" - it is a lot easier than it looks like given that you can ignore 90% of the buttons, and since you're used to T3ed you can work in 3D.
Otherwise, I'd suggest you build it, take pictures (with any stock static meshes), export the brushes *and* convert the *tim files to assemble a complete ready package for anyone who's converting for you: that way they don't have to dig around for the meshes or ask you how it should look and hopefully they'll be able to get back to you quite quick.
Currently I can't offer to convert things for you - Judith's pushing us on the Cabal project so I need to get my head down and concentrate on that for a little while longer, but I might be available come this "next level" you're talking about.

The server hosting the SMP is down for a few weeks now but I can't reach the owner anymore to get the files back. I still have the php-files, but all the Static Meshes need to be uploaded again, as soon as I set it up on my personal server again. So have some patience. Maybe there's going to be a few more sections according to objects and textures and stuff.

You could add new sections, like AI, sounds, scripts, classes.

It's still off. I had some meshes to upload... :erg:

I don't undestand. Lights from torches, flames, fire arrows et al *are* omnis as far as I know.
And I'm not sure what you mean by reflect light either - can you post some screenshots to ellaborate please?

As soon as the Smesh Platform will be on, I will upload them. Youi will find them on darkfate.ru too.
