Well, that's ok then. Carry on.

Improvising on the piano.
Coffee & listening to MP3s of other people improvising on the piano.
Lots of walking around the city.

Ah, thanks for the suggestions folks. Gunsmokes in particular sounds especially appealing (tried to get my fishing license last weekend but they want a damn Texas state license). Some great suggestions otherwise too, thanks guys.

You could also take up tobacco farming. Believe it or not, its some pretty xen stuff once you get to cultivating, curing, processing and smoking the stuff when its something you grew yourself. And believe me, none of the industrial cigarettes and "cigars" can match quality with the stuff you can grow once you get the hang of it.
It's sort of like koi fish or those zen gardens you.. Except you get to smoke the end results.

I find carving my initials into the forehead of ex-girlfriends very therapeutic.

is highly hypnotic...
I'm surprised I've never figured this out before, but it's better than any hypnotist I've ever been to and absolutely takes me away. Lawn chair + cold beer + partly cloudy + music = ultimate relaxation. So how else do ya'll relax?
Its spring here now, and theres still some snow that hasnt melted yet so the weather is still very chilly but once the summer sets in, beer+music+ hookah with cola flavoured tobacco in it + magnificent view over the nearby river and hills from my veranda.
=ultimate relaxation

Something that never occurred to me but who's going to stop you, right?
I think if I tried this, I'd figure out whatever they do in the Middle East to give tobacco a flavor like cherry or apple (I assume something like soaking it for a few days) and then smoke it in a nargila. The whole idea sounds really nice, actually.

Tobacco is good to grow even if you don't smoke it. I like the way it smells, and it keeps some of the bugs away if you put it in with other plants

OP: Good luck finding your relaxing activity. Most of the time, the best ones are free or very inexpensive. If you do end up getting into fishing, feel free to ask me for some advice on getting started. My carp-eating buddy (uncadonego) would probably be willing to help as well :p
One of our clients just asked me yesterday about tobacco. They can't grow anything, and I was ripping out her latest failure (an unrecognizable 'bush' that now resembles Charlie Brown's Christmas tree) and she was asking for some idiot-proof plants. She has full-sun, which I assume is what tobacco needs, though it is just a guess based on the huge leaves and typical states that cultivate it commercially.
I have no idea if it is touchy, heavy on the maintenance, hearty, etc...so how tough is it to raise, does it spread quickly, need lots of water? Anyone give me the low-down on it who has first hand knowledge of it?
