Blizzard are making a HD remaster of the original Starcraft, while keeping the original gameplay exactly in tact (to the point that some players in the same game can be using the original 640x480 game, and others using the new remastered one.)

It sounds a bit like Blizzard have realised that SC2's balance is such a mess of bad decisions and poorly-designed, mis-fitting units that they will never get it to the same state of balance that the original had, and are just going back to that.
The graphics really look like that "the same, but better" style that I like to see in graphical upgrade projects.
This point sounds rather scary, though: "Amped Audio: The original soundtrack and dialogue, re-recorded and rejuvenated."
In my opinion, the quality of the sound in SC1 was generally much better than SC2 (I'm not really talking about the sound quality itself, e.g. bitrate or recording quality, but rather the style of the sounds. For example, Protoss sounded really alien, as opposed to the "human with effects" style that they have in SC2.)
Of course, since the gameplay is being kept exactly the same, it won't change the fact that a huge part of playing Starcraft is about fighting its awful user interface, but at this point that has become a feature (somehow), since they intentionally avoided improving it much in Starcraft 2.

Yeah, I don't want the unit barks changed either. Those were pretty perfect to begin with. The story and cutscene VOs, though, I s'pose I wouldn't mind either way.
