In fact, there can be all kinds of styles in the Star Wars movies. Why can't there be a post-Jedi Han/Leia Judd Apatow flick? OH IT'S NOT RIGHT TO HAVE COMEDY OF CRUDE STYLE! you say, but I say thbtthhbthbfff or however you spell it.
Maybe we need spin-offs. After Lucas dies. Because that man ruins Star Wars :(
Yeah, Lucas' vision of is far too sexless to allow for that, especially since everything has to revolve around the oh-no-I-had-feeling-now-I-must-kill-everything :( jedi nowadays.

This is because you're dumb. Accept this, and move on.
What more stupid of having a nick "ZylonBane"? So I return the offence.

I'm still a little butthurt that we didn't get a prequel about Han and Chewie. Not the backstory shit "how they met lol" or "young Han Solo and boyhood chum Jabba" ninnery (which unfortunately is probably precisely what Lucas would do), but just a good old space adventure flick! We know the characters already, there's no need for exposition, let's just have a goddamned balls-out Han Solo flick...
They did. See "Star Wars Holiday Special."
Minus the "good," that is.

Someone Tweet it to Lucas.

Han & Chewie adventures wouldn't be a bad premise for a SW series...'fore they met Luke and went all "Aaawwww...we're scruffy looking nice guys...".

At least give us a videogame version of it. Lucas has all the flight sim/FPS/RPG groundwork done (X-wing Alliance, Jedi Academy, KOTR, etc). Who wouldn't buy it? Forget this expanded universe baloney (with the exception of the awesome Lowbacca).

I've never understood why the Stackpole/Alliston X-Wing book series wasn't used for a television show. You've got no major characters from the trilogy with the possible exception of Wedge (Dennis Lawson), who could have been recast easily. You've got a great military drama as Rogue Squadron recruits and tracks down remnants of the Empire. You've got a great political drama as the Rebel Alliance nurses a brand new government into existence. You've got all kinds of questions about the role of the Jedi, since there are force users popping up all over the place, not to mention what role the Skywalker twins could/should play in politics. The books series was great, the characters were sharp, and the plots were the best thing to come out of Lucasfilm since Empire. He could have easily launched it a year after Return of the Jedi, money in the bank.
