All right, out of curiosity, who is everyone's favorite character in the expanded universe? Mine's Lando Calrissian, but closely fallowing is Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Mara Jade.

When I was young I liked to read the stories about the minor characters - you never knew what was going to happen. The stories about the major players were all about Bad Evil is coming, good guys look like they can't stop it and will lose, good guys triumph. :bored: Nowdays I rarely read fiction at all. I think uni textbooks were what stopped any reading for fun.
EDIT: So in answer to your question - minor characters.

Mambo
No surprise you never heard of it, it exists only in my little personal expanded Star Wars universe. Actually, I myself don't have a very clear picture who/what Mambo precisely is.

This one time he killed a guy over the internet and then stood over his charred corpse and I was like "Bad. Ass."

Leia/Han & kids ('specially little Anakin II). Mara always worried me (once the 'Right Hand' always the 'Right Hand' I say) & I didn't think she was good enough for Luke.
Shug is obviously teetering on the verge of a rum-induced coma. :p

I never read many of these books. Wedge Antilles and Corran Horn are pretty cool, though.

Yeah, the X-Wing series kicks ass. They need to use them for the TV show - Wedge, Corran, Tycho, Gavin, etc. It'd be like Top Guns in space. The other part of the show should focus on Mon Mothma, Ackbar, Fey'y'la and the whole polictical side of the New Republic. The early books dealing with that stuff were the best.
Kyp Durron is my favorite resident smart-ass right now in the Dark Nest trilogy.

And that would be good... how?
I second Shugs. Jar-jar is the best character. Well, right after Boba and Jango. Lando is pretty cool in a subtle way too. Anyone with stupid vowels, lack of vowels or stupid apostophies in their name clearly sucks the big ones. And what race is Ackbar again?

He's a Mon Calamari.
