Battlefront I wasn't terrible. I played it a little a long time ago. It was included in the Free Games Pack you get once you buy the Console XBOX.
What are your expectations for this game ?
I believe it will get big sales once it is released. Maybe more than : Star Wars (The Old Republic) : MMORPG.

The open beta started today or yesterday or recently. So far opinions are between meh and you'renotmyfathernooooooooooooo.gif.
Glad they're livin' up to the mantle of Dark Forces and TIE Fighter.

I don't know... for some reason I'm quite disappointed with the game so far. I played Star Wars Battlefront 1 & 2 an awful lot... throughly enjoyed them too. But I can't quite put my finger on what part about this one that seems off somewhat to me.

I don't like "realistic" shooters. The only multiplayer shooters I play are more "Arena Based" with Kill Streaks Bonuses, Power UPS or Health Pack/Armor/Ammo Collectibles.

Battlefront 1 and 2 have health + ammo pickups, AI team mates and Vehicles.
For this Game "Battlefront 3", I find that the Regen System is very nice. You don't have to run away or cower behind a wall. The regen allows to stay always in battle near the heat of the action. The Power-UPS are limited; you can carry at most 3. The game looks a lot like Arena-based games as Quake due to power-ups mechanics. I believe it is an interesting diversification in the ways you can kill your opponent.
EA is trying to change the formula of the series. It has put a lot of effort into the product. Extra points for that. :D

A. This game has no campaign. B. Will be dead playerbase-wise within three months. C. Has no server browser. It'll be a colossal waste of money. Battlefront 2015 will be "the next Hardline".

I played the PS4 beta yesterday and wasn't exactly blown away by the game itself (I'm not that much into online FPSes most of the time, and definitely less so on a gamepad), but this is shaping up to be a damn nice looking game that absolutely nails the audiovisual aspect of Star Wars. I'd give a lot for a modern Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Rogue Squadron or X-Wing/TIE Fighter that looks and sounds like this.

I hate to say it... but I have to agree with EvaUnit02. I was really excited when this game was announced & I really wanted it to be great. The fact the EA was publishing it & DICE was developing it made me worry just a bit, but I ignored that in hopes that it wouldn't be a problem. I still have the boxed copies of 1 & 2 sitting on my desk after all.
But it feels like just that... a glorified, dumbed down, Battlefield 4 mod with a Star Wars skin slapped on. I'm not even interested anymore as the game is extremely underwhelming. Sure, it has really nice graphics... but that's all I can really list under the pros for it when comparing it to the earlier titles in the series. And unfortunately, graphics are not really all the important to me anymore.

No server browser, no in-game voice chat, no depth, Force-powered pelvic thrusts. It's like they aren't even trying to live up to the Battlefield mantle. :confused:
