Ok, now I'll make this perfectly brief: I decided to start afresh, and formatted my hard drive on my Inspiron 1525 and reinstalled vista. Yes, even after going through the standard troubles of installing audio/video drivers, and applying the ddfix patch to the game: It starts the first mission (in 800x600 Resolution on an 1280x800 lcd monitor, set to maintain the aspect ratio), and this is the weird part, it starts the game with glitchy colors (nix on the sky, though, oddly enough...). This is what I mean:

Imagine, just paste an image of some beatles member or the blue meanie on this work of art and you'd have well, (

But I digress. Can I pinpoint the solution to this problem, or is this going to be a 24 hour drama?

It is clearly running in the software mode - that probably means either 3d driver is missing or the game can't find it for some reason.

Albert: Please make sure that you've installed a graphics card driver for it. The last one should be on your Vista DVD or can be downloaded from the Dell's website.

This thread promised an explanation. Albert fails to deliver.

Sorry, what more do you need to know? I installed the latest drivers, and no luck...
Well, actually, to be honest, I installed the drivers from a different website. For some asinine reason, I couldn't download the drivers from the dell website, so I just googled what I thought might work. Also, I installed directx 10 for good measure. Overall, this is what the game reads the graphics to be:

UPDATE: I disabled the ddfix patch and... Oddly enough, it works! Well, it crashes a few seconds in, but I think that just means the single core patch was removed along with the ddfix patch.

Look up the difference between "explain" and "describe".

Hmm, didn't I already define what this situation involves?
Didn't it already occur to you this is invloving:
1. A Dell laptop: Inspiron 1525... with vista reinstalled, obviously.
2. Graphics failed to function. OK, so Disabling the DDFix patch works, but now it'd be a little better if I can figure out how to get to where I was when I originally was able to play the game to near-perfection...
Jeez, search up the difference of "Cooperative" and "pretentious", Why dontcha?
