S.T.A.L.K.E.R. XR_3DA.exe file is a trojan?!? - by TBE

I just recently installed S.T.A.L.K.E.R. again, and when I got done, AVG Antivirus says that the XR_3DA.exe file is a trojan horse downloader of some sort. I have a legal copy I bought brand new in the box. It didn't do this before, what could cause this to change? I put it on the list of files to exclude from the AVG sweep, but some people may end up not being able to play as their exe file gets put in quarantine.

Just a false positive. The best way is to exclude the file, it will require a reInstall if the exe gets eaten up by the AV program though. (unless the game is available in raw form on the DVD)

Antiviruses can be pretty sensitive about any hint of "malicious code" these days. But better safe than sorry.

Once upon a time, Thief did the same thing. It happens.

As the others say its just a false positive just disable your scanner during installation or set it to accept the stalker exe as non virused.

Right I got the same error today on my girlfriends pc, she wanted to play stalker mp against me!
I'm a lucky guy, she's pretty and likes computer games.
Anyways I dont know how to tell avg to bypass it or whatever. So it was a no go.
Hope you get it right.

Best solution: Ditch AVG and get NOD32.

Wow nod... Hell, I sell Nod32 for the compny I work for.
It sucks!
Hundreds of clients complaining about it...
So my sales for Nod is very low... zero if I remember right.
