Ok, i have a question for you TTLGers. At my local games store, S.T.A.L.K.E.R is $80, and from what i hear its a rather good game. But i don't have the cash at the moment so is it worth saving up some pocket money for?

$80? You mean australian dollars, right?
Anyway, if you're asking that question on a forum dedicated to the game, the obvious answer is that yes, it is worth buying. Speaking for myself, I can honestly say that I haven't been this obsessed with a game perhaps since the System Shock games.

CPU is quite sufficient. GPU is very bad. Forget about dynamic lighting (6200s doesn't even support HDR I think), high visibility range and more than 50% quality textures. RAM will cause you headache from extremely long loading times and ingame stutering. Overall I think you should be able to play it on 1024x768, min-med settings and static lighting, but I'm not saying it will be fluent gameplay. Look out for some tweaking tips, most importantly use the -noprefetch command to reduce loading times.

F.e. on R9800Pro it's very playable at 1024x768 with all on max except antialiasing. BUT it's static lighting mode (dynamic lighting isn't available).

If it was available and enabled, the framerate would be measured in months, not seconds. :p

Thanks for the help guys. Graphics aren't a big issue for me, running low-medium at 1024x768 is fine. Probably getting a 1gb RAM upgrade soon, so we should be allright. Once again, thanks guys. really apreciate the help :D

Adding 1 GB will bring you to the recommended amount, that should give you noticable improvement. :)

what is this game like ? is it a simple 1st person shooter or does it have depth like Deus EX and system Shock 2 ?

It is quite obvious after a minute of research that the game is a lot more complex than a generic FPS game.
