The game is the most action-y of the franchise, naturally. The book was moderately so, and the film not at all (though the party does have to get through a military cordon to get into the zone; that's about it).
This certainly looks interesting. Here's hoping they don't screw it up. I have faith!

I can only hope this series will bring attention to the Tarkovsky masterpiece, but I have little hope for the show itself.

I'm not exactly hoping for art and I 'm not blindly naming everything that Tarkovsky did a masterpiece. Actually his Stalker movie I find quite pretentious and boring and not deep at all. I prefer the book by miles. But it's pretty much the rule for US productions to dumb down films or books or any sources of non-US origin for US consumers. So that's why I'd be more worried. Doesn't mean on the other hand that I'm already convinced of this here per se to be like... teh awezum.
