I've just watched it. How did the gate to the Bar area open that way? And I didn't know it was possible to actually go to Pripyat without turning off the brain scorcher.
But of course that a speedrun had to end with one of the false endings. I was just curious to see which ending did he get playing like that, but unfortunately that wasn't included in the video.

I seem to remember they made it impossible with patch 1.3 or 1.4 and up. I tried it myself when playing last time and couldn't - instant death of radiation or brain "boiling" (don't quite remember) near the transition point.
Maybe it's not patched game?

He gets the stalker suit instead of the merc suit from the roof in cordon so I think he must be using version 1.00. His armour also doesn't appear to get damaged at all.
