S.T.A.L.K.E.R. secrets - there will be SPOILERS within, you are warned. - by vesuvius

IF YOU HAVEN'T BEATEN THE GAME WITH THE "REAL" ENDINGS (and learned the secret behind your identity and the wish-granter), DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER- THIS WILL GIVE AWAY THE END. I AM TOO LAZY TO USE SPOILER TAGS EVERYWHERE.
Thought it'd be interesting to start a thread to share secret places and unique stashes that people have found, as well as to ask questions about secret things we know are there, but don't know how to access.
I'll share both, although a couple of these are things I mentioned in the megathread.
unique stashes:
In the "wilds" or whatever- the trainyard area with mercenaries, if you get a stash marker inside a building with a collapsed roof, there's a SEVA (sp?) suit within, which is one of the best all around armors in the game. You have to climb the roof of an adjacent building, climb through the hole in the roof, avoid a pit with an electric anomaly and survive high radiation levels, but it's worth it. In my first play-through (pre-patch) this only had one suit in it, but I've read that someone post-patch found three. Either the # is random, or because armor now degrades, they included more.
Another one I didn't find but heard about is that there's supposed to be a tomb marker for a particular dead stalker in the center of pripyat, which should yield you exoskeletal armor.
In the lab in Yantar, if you got the two stash hints, you get a silenced sniper rifle and (I think I remember correct) a Spas-12.
----
Now as for some non-stash secrets, there's a couple things I've found that I don't know how to access.
All are in the Red Forest, and I mentioned them all in the megathread.
*There's a unique type of mutant there, but I can't find him. The "illusionist" that you can read about in several journals is obviously there (you get illusory dogs sent after you). Does anyone know where he is? if anything interesting happens if you kill him?
*In the brain scorcher there's numerous key-coded doors that don't have to do with the mission, I got the code to one off of a monolith guy I killed (it had anti-rad stuff, ammo, and medpacks in it) but there were a good 5 or 6 other doors there. SUPPOSEDLY (but since my only end-game saves are pre-patch, I can't check) the decoder you get at the hotel stash lets you open ANY key-coded door, but I only have heard this secondhand, I haven't checked it out.
*The other Yantar key-coded secret area is outdoors, there is an elevated walkway/hallway with a keycoded door near the road that leads up to the scorcher. There's a sniper outside the door. I didn't get the code to this anywhere either, but if the decoder trick works, it should gain you access here as well.

Supposedly there's an MP5 chambered to use the extremely common 9x18 ammo if you have the guts to traverse through the anomaly-filled collapsed train tunnel near the Garbage-Agropom border (Garbage side). I wasn't man enough.

i tried it, but the radiation is a killer.

Dont think so. It states in its description it isnt an all purpose tool but designed for a specific lock (NPP Secret Lab door). Went back into the Brain scorcer lab and tried all doors i found and it did zilch. Didnt find any codes except for one door, so my guess is most of those are probably just props.
Red Forest Walkway door code is rumored to be 1287975 but i couldnt figure out how to get up there :p

get underneath it. i think there's a hole in the fence on the forest side.
vesuvius on 6/4/2007 at 01:54
There's actually holes in the fence on both sides, and a ladder near the door. That sucks about the decoder- well, I mean- it makes sense- and I didn't think it would work on other doors during my playthrough either, but it sucks that it means there's no answer about the other doors. I guess they could just be props.

Confirmed. A little modding and radiation is not a concern.

Yantar Lab: Marker in the elevator shaft is an electrical box stash point - two Vintar BC sniper rifles. Just checked it again and confirmed. I love this weapon, easy to get ammo and it can drop monolith troops with one well placed headshot.
Red Forest: keypad door next to the sniper perch - I can see inside the room by pressing up against the door and leaning - its a u-shaped room with shelves, table with HAM radio setup and two visible doors. I tossed 9 grenades into the room while leaning, was hoping to flush out a NPC but nothing seemed to happen.

Did anyone find the unique artifacts? I only found the spring artifact and two batteries - the spring is in the tower in the abandoned village part of the military warehouses map (hope u like bloodsuckers) and gives +30 Impact I recall. As for the batteries for the life of me I can't remember where I got them.

I found a 'soul' artifact, either in the red forest or in the atomic power station, cant remember where exactly due to finding it in my inventory, much later in the game. I remember picking a strange artifact up in the red forest just north of the sw corner on the map, under a rock.
The illusionary dogs in the red forest disappeared after the brain scorcher was turned off.
